Obituary for Marion Isabel Stewart

Marion Isabel Stewart
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marion Isabel Stewart on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 85 years at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital in Stonewall, Manitoba.
Marion is survived by her daughters, Peggy (Doug) Latta, Debbie(Don) Gemmill; grandchildren, Katherine (Ryan) Isfeld, Amanda (Mike) Nychuk, Jamie (Kathy Brown) Latta, Bill (Whitney) Gemmill, Ian Latta, Bonnie (Bryan) Hockridge, Mike Gemmill; great- grand children, Isla, Henry and Janey Gemmill, Kacey Latta, Will and Jake Nychuk, Ella and Brady Isfeld; and sisters, Helen Skogan of Teulon, Manitoba and Annabell (John) Bueckert of Bowmanville, Ontario.
Marion also leaves to mourn her step great-grand children, Emily, Seth and Quinn Balsdon; nephews, Bert (Shirley) Skogan, Stewart Campbell; nieces, Karen (Lyle) Willis, and Christine(Ron) Crick.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Alexander Beedy Stewart, parents William John and Isabel (Fraser) Campbell; brother Fraser Campbell; sisters-in-law Shirley Campbell and Eileen Flett.
Marion was born and raised in Teulon, Manitoba. On November 14, 1952, she married Beedy and together they farmed for over 50 years on the century family farm near Stonewall. She was a member of the Stonewall Knox Presbyterian Church.
Marion's main interest was her family, especially the grandchildren and the great-grand children. Marion was not your typical grandmother in that she did not sew, knit, or bake. (except for great shortbread at Christmas!) She did, however, have an endless supply of oreo cookies, chips and chocolate bars on hand for whenever the grandchildren and eventually the great-grand children came to visit. She was very fortunate to have them all live within minutes from her as she took a very active interest in each of their lives. She and her smile will be missed.
A special thanks to Dr.Pinniger and staff at the Dr. Evelyn Memorial Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion.
At Marion's request, there will be a private family graveside service. For those wishing to pay their respects a luncheon will be held at the Bel Acres Golf and Country Club in Lilyfield, MB on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marion to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6, or the Winnipeg Children's Hospital, CE501-840 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3A 1S1 .
"Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all it's sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world."
