Obituary for Trude Linden

Trude Linden
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Trude Linden at Goodwin Lodge, in Teulon on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the age of 83 years.
Trude is survived by her husband David Coupland of Teulon, her daughter Michele (Patrick) in Arizona, son Mark (Jan) in Winnipeg; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one step great-grandson. She is also survived by two sisters and one sister-in-law in The Netherlands.
Trude emigrated to Canada from Holland in 1956 and spent time living in various places in Quebec and Alberta before moving to Winnipeg. In 1973 she met David, the love of her life and the two were never apart after that, best friends forever and partners in marriage. Trude enjoyed ballroom dancing with David, spinning, weaving and a short stint of parachuting. She managed to crack a vertebra on her third jump, which ended her skydiving activities. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and went on to earn her Registered Nurse Diploma from Red River Community College. After working as an R.N. for several years, she retired to her home near Teulon and spent her retirement reading and listening to classical music. In 2013 Trude was diagnosed with dementia which eventually caused her to be placed in Goodwin Lodge as her husband was no longer able to care for her at their home.
She contributed to many charities but her favorite was the Winnipeg Humane Society.
It was her request that no funeral service or memorial service be held. A private burial will take place at a later date.
