Peacefully, at the end of a beautiful life, surrounded by her children, grandchildren and prayer, Eveline Eva Carrière passed away on Easter Monday April 2, 2018 at the age of 86. She was pre-deceased by her husband Paul-Émile Carrière, her parents Narcisse Fournier, and Alice Fournier (née Balcaen), brothers Narcisse, Étienne, Alphonse, Gilbert, and sister Henriette. She is survived by her sisters Denise, Clémence, Rose, Florence, Liliane, brothers Bernard, and Oscar and her children Bernard (Barbara), Claude (Sandy), Guy (Claire), Joanne (Audie), Mario (Leigh Ann), Serge (Patricia), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maman was born and raised in La Broquerie, Manitoba. After starting work as a teacher, she met and married Paul-Emile Carriere in 1952. Together they raised a family of six children. After a number of moves, they settled in St. Laurent, Manitoba where Maman lived for much of the remainder of her life.
Maman loved to sing and her beautiful voice could be heard on Sundays in the parish choir. Our house was always filled with music. Maman had a wry sense of humour and this was reflected in the plays she wrote and directed for the Festival du Voyageur. On any given Saturday evening, the log cabin that she and Papa built bustled with the sounds and lights of her theatre troupe rehearsing their lines and putting together the plays. Eveline was also an avid golfer and for years she was a fixture at her beloved Manipogo golf course. You could always spot the little old lady with the beautiful silver hair, watching her ball roll to a stop in the distance. Putting was her specialty. Maman was an amazing gardener and her beautiful flowers could be seen on display every year in her yard in St. Laurent. She always said that when her time came she wanted to be the gardener of heaven.
Maman dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always there for us.
Prayers will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church, St. Laurent.
You will be in our hearts forever Maman. Rest now for a while and then rise to your work. There are flowers to tend!

Paisiblement, entourée de ses enfants, petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants, Eveline Eva Carrière s’est éteinte le lundi de Pâques 2 avril 2018 à l’âge de 86 ans. Elle a été précédée dans la mort par son mari Paul-Émile Carrière, ses parents, Narcisse Fournier et Alice Balcaen, ses frères, Narcisse, Étienne, Alphonse, Gilbert, et sa sœur Henriette.
Elle laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs Denise, Clémence, Rose, Florence, Liliane, ses frères Bernard et Oscar, et ses enfants, Bernard (Barbara), Claude (Sandy), Guy (Claire), Joanne (Audie), Mario (Leigh Ann), Serge (Patricia) et plusieurs petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants.
Née à La Broquerie au Manitoba, elle commence une carrière d’institutrice avant d’épouser Paul-Émile Carrière en 1952. Ensemble, ils élèvent six enfants. Après plusieurs déménagements, ils s’installent à Saint-Laurent où Maman passe le restant de sa vie.
Maman aimait chanter et on pouvait entendre sa voix magnifique chaque dimanche à la messe. Notre maison était toujours remplie de musique. Maman avait un sens de l’humour mordant et cela se reflétait dans les pièces de théâtre qu’elle a écrites, mise en scène et présentées au Festival du Voyageur. La plupart des samedis soirs, la cabane que Papa et elle ont construite ensemble bourdonnait des sons joyeux des répétitions qu’ils y organisaient.
Eveline Eva Carrière était aussi une grande golfeuse. Elle a longtemps été une habituée du terrain de golf Manipogo. En plus d’être une golfeuse redoutable, maman avait aussi le pouce vert. Merveilleuse jardinière, ses arrangements floraux pouvaient être vus et appréciés chaque année à Saint-Laurent. Elle disait toujours que quand son temps serait venu, elle aimerait devenir la jardinière du paradis.
Maman a dédié sa vie à ses enfants, ses petits-enfants et à ses arrière-petits-enfants. Elle a toujours été présente pour chacun d’entre nous.
Les prières auront lieu à 10h30, le samedi 7 avril 2018, suivies d'un service funèbre à 11h. Le tout aura lieu à l'église catholique de Saint-Laurent.
Tu resteras à jamais dans nos cœurs Maman. Repose-toi maintenant et ensuite, mets-toi à l’œuvre. Il y a tant de fleurs à planter!
